I joined the team this past November, and couldn't be more excited to be a part of such a wonderful company! Growing up in Colorado cultivated my love for hiking, trail running, backpacking, and paddle boarding. I attended undergrad in Durango, Colorado at Fort Lewis College, graduating with a Bachelors of Arts in Art and Archaeology. While attending classes, I also managed a locally owned garden center. My working knowledge of all things horticultural was never really satisfied. Not only did I want to grow plants, I wanted to learn how to turn natural plant material into beneficial health products. This desire is shared with my fiancé, who is a Naturopathic Doctor. Together we try to harvest, process, and create our own herbal tea and tinctures to the best of our abilities. Enter Uncle Harry's! Using this spray after I shower and spritzing some after I am done styling, has made my hair shiny, strong, and soft! I am often disappointed by products, as the oils end up weighing the hair down and creating a greasy mess. However, the Aromatherapy Hair Conditioner Spray with its citrus focused essential oils leaves my hair light, manageable and ready for a great hair day! Why is Uncle Harry' Cinnamon Toothpaste your favorite product?My favorite product is hands down our toothpaste. Specifically the cinnamon flavor. Having been trained as a certified dental assistant, I was very skeptical of what kind of benefit my family’s oral health could get from a natural toothpaste, but after reading the ingredients and seeing the quality of ingredients we use, I was definitely intrigued—all of the minerals in the clay, the antibacterial properties of the oils, the sea salt—all things I knew would be good for us. The first time I used it was a bit rough. I had a hard time with the taste. However, my teeth felt like I had just gone to the dentist for a cleaning! My mouth had never felt so clean and refreshing. After a week or so, the saltiness went away as the ph levels in my mouth balanced. Now nobody in our house will use anything else. We often joke about how being forced to use a more mainstream brand feels as clean as brushing our teeth with a lollipop! I pass it out to everyone these days! I have been a part of this incredibly diverse little family for about 2 and a half years. I could not love my job more!!! I am a very proud mama of 2 remarkable young men, and will marry my love next year. Why is Uncle Harry's Face Wash your favorite product?His whole life, my boyfriend suffered from deep, cystic acne. It was so bad before I found these products that his doctors told him the only way he would ever have clear skin was by going on a powerful chemical drug that alters your body functions and comes with a long list of very serious side effects. He had gone through everything it was possible to try, and this formula is the only product he's ever found that's worked. I went from struggling with a load of health problems, having trouble functioning in my day to day life, to never having to worry I might have a day where I can't get out of bed again. I hope to eventually be able to spread all my knowledge to help people realize that there's a whole world beyond Western medicine one that we've been taught. I like to spend my free time expanding my mind in every way, researching and learning as much as possible, exploring new organic restaurants, enjoying nature, and creating everything that I can. I'm incredibly excited to be on this journey of life and for every day that I get to grow further and learn how to keep improving it! One day, I hope to go back to school to study quantum physics. Why is Uncle Harry's Hair & Scalp Elixir your favorite product?Uncle Harry's Hair and Scalp Elixir is one of my favorite because it has transformed my hair back into original curly, bouncy, and overall healthy state. I had used a hair straightener for many years on my hair. It damaged my curls to the point they were loose curls not tight ringlets, after applying this every morning directly to my scalp, after about 3 months I saw the difference it was doing to my hair. I have found an abundance of trails and river beds with everything from clear quartz, garnet and even blue lace agate! In addition, I STAND with Women's Rights and the Black Lives Matter movements! I am a food lover. Some of my favorite restaurants are No Bones, Sunlight Café, and Cookie Counter. They are all vegan, sustainable, and local restaurants around Seattle that all have the most killer menus! Creativity is something I have fostered in myself since I was little.
