New Look – Where’s Harry?
If you’ve been with us since the early days, you’ve probably noticed our packaging has gone through a few transformations. And if you’re brand new here—welcome! We’re so glad you found Uncle Harry’s.
We started with this guy:

Then came this guy:

And now… our newest look:

But first things first: Uncle Harry’s has not been bought out. We’re still 100% family-owned, still rooted in beautiful Washington State, and still making everything in small batches with minimally processed ingredients. The only big change? Harry himself has officially retired, and his daughter and wife are now leading the way forward. We’re thrilled to share that this new chapter also marks our certification as a 100% women-owned business.

A Journey in Looks
Our brand story has always been about more than just packaging.
- We started with a quirky mustachioed clipart face.
- For our 30-year anniversary, we honored the real Harry with a photo from his youth.
- Now, our new look celebrates our name itself: Uncle Harry’s.
For years, people recognized our bottles but didn’t always know our name. That’s changing—we’re proud to shout it from the mountain tops: Uncle Harry’s!
We’ve also made the label design clearer and easier to read, highlighting benefits, ingredients, and even pH scales on some product lines. This makes it simpler to choose what works naturally best for you.
This year, our oral care line got the full refresh. In 2026, you’ll see the rest of our products roll out in the new look—so keep an eye on your favorite bottles as they evolve!
Updated Formulas – Saying Goodbye to Silver
Alongside our new look, you might have noticed a small but important recipe change in our Miracle Mouthwash and Toothpastes: we’ve said goodbye to colloidal silver.
We’d actually been exploring this step for years, testing silver-free formulas with customers and stores. The response was overwhelmingly positive. And now, we’re excited to move forward with updated formulas that are just as effective—if not more—thanks to powerful new plant-based ingredients.
Here’s why we made the change:
1. Reduce our Ecological Footprint
Silver mining in particular can pollute the air, soil, and water in the locations it is mined. So to reduce our ecological footprint, we can start with reducing mined ingredients. Since colloidal silver is not at the core of what makes our oral care products so effective and cleansing, we knew it could be removed without detracting from the quality and efficacy of our formulas.
2. Supporting Regenerative Agriculture
Instead of silver, we now use supercritical echinacea extract, a pure and sustainable plant extract grown and distilled in Germany. Echinacea has been celebrated for centuries, and in oral care it shines—stimulating healthy saliva flow, gently cleansing the mouth, and supporting balanced oral flora. Here are two studies on how effective echinacea is for oral care: Study 1 Study 2
3. Clearing Up Confusion
During COVID, colloidal silver was often promoted with exaggerated “cure-all” claims. While we believe in the many wonderful benefits of silver, as seen in modern medicine and throughout ancient history, we never wanted misinformation to overshadow our products. Removing it helps keep our message clear and grounded.
Why Our Toothpaste Still Works Wonders
If you’re wondering whether removing silver changes the power of our toothpaste—the answer is no. Here’s why:
- Alkalinity – Toothpaste contains pure earth minerals including bentonite clay, calcium carbonate, and sea salt, which are naturally alkaline. Neutralizing acids helps stop the demineralization process by eliminating the acidic environment where mineral loss occurs
- Potent Essential Oils – The essential oil blend in our toothpaste (peppermint, eucalyptus, clove, wintergreen, oregano) is actually the "natural" formula for Listerine, and the chemical versions of these oils (eucalyptol, menthol, methyl salicylate, thymol) are the FDA's formula for anti-gingivitis. Although colloidal silver has cleansing properties, these oils are the real heavy-lifters when it comes to cleansing (along with the bentonite clay, which has wonderful adsorption and detoxifying properties).
- Saliva Support – Sea salt stimulates saliva, your body’s own natural defense. Saliva buffers acids, balances bacteria, and delivers trace minerals for remineralization.
In short: our toothpaste is still as cleansing, alkalizing, and mineral-supporting as ever—just without the silver.
At Uncle Harry’s, every update we make—whether to our look or our formulas—comes from the same place: a deep commitment to natural, effective care, and a whole lot of love for the people and planet we serve.
We’re excited for you to join us in this new chapter. Keep an eye out for refreshed labels throughout 2026, and as always, thank you for supporting this small family business through every stage of the journey.
