Been buying this for years. It's my favorite flavor and leaves my mouth fresh. Love the anise in it. I never complained about the strength of the oils in the earlier version but I don't mind the new formula. In my opinion the difference is insignificant. Our whole family uses it but they prefer the spearmint. I started buying them their own jar and get to keep this one to myself. I've let a couple of friends try it and it's unanimous... It is stellar at cleaning the mouth and leaving your breath fresh. Love Uncle Harrys products and I love that they last so long!! Businesses today are more concerned with selling more vs. a high quality product that lasts. These products are top shelf!

I noticed a pretty dramatic change with my last jar of this - less flavor/sensation and an aftertaste that wasn't anywhere near as noticeable before the change. It's still ok. But I miss the old formula for sure. Odd thing is the difference made this product seem expensive, where it seemed priced to value before. I have just purchased another one, but considering it might be my last.

After noticing a dramatic lack of spiciness and efficacy in this product as compared with previous years, I contacted customer service and verified that indeed Uncle Harry has changed the formula of their famous toothpastes. They substantially cut back on the essential oils (i.e., the key ingredients that maintain oral freshness for 8+ hours) to suit a wider demographic after some customers purportedly complained about the taste. Rather than rolling out with an additional milder version, Harry listened to the hypersensitive naysayers by altering the original formula and, as a result, snubbed the loyal fans who put him on the map from the decision process.

This used to be the only product that I could rely on to feel confident about my oral hygiene. I have recommended, purchased, and repurchased for friends and family, especially seniors who swore by it for keeping their denture odors at bay. Due to the formula change, I no longer stand behind this product. While the original formula slayed morning breath and maintained unparalleled freshness throughout the day, this new formula does not go above and beyond commercial drugstore toothpastes. I now notice substantial amounts of plaque developing on my teeth throughout the day after the switch to the new formula, which discredits the company's claims that the new formula is still effective despite having dialed down its intensity.

Uncle Harry, if you are listening, I implore you to resurrect the old formula (under a new product name now that the "original" has been tainted) instead of duping consumers, like myself, into purchasing what is now essentially just clay in a jar.
